The RHONY Cast Is Apparently ‘Elated’ About Brynn Whitfield’s Exit

It’s been a big year for viewers of The Real Housewives of New York, especially for die-hard fans who have been with the reality TV show for years. Prior to Season 10’s announcement, concern arose that RHONY might be drawing to a close, with rumors swirling that Bravo had the franchise on the back burner.

Even after Season 10 was confirmed as an official return (though with exact cast details to follow), Season 9 wasn’t over with its share of the casting drama. In fact, just this past week, cast member Brynn Whitefield shared she was exiting after just two seasons—and it seems her fellow castmates may be happy about it.

‘The Real Housewives Of London’ Gets An Exciting Cast Update

The official cast for’ The Real Housewives of London’ has been announced, and it will include some new and familiar faces.

Brynn took to her official Instagram account to share news of her departure on her story. In her heartfelt note, Brynn shared that she believed her RHONY experience was always meant to be shorter-term, and that she saw herself as a “temporary custodian” of the franchise:

After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to walk away from reality TV. For now… The Real Housewives of New York City will always be one of the most fun, chaotic, and magical chapters of my life. It was the honor of a lifetime to help reboot such an iconic franchise. From day one, I’ve believed RHONY is a fan’s [sic] show — we’re just temporary custodians of something that truly belongs to the viewers.

“I hope I made you laugh (a lot), cry (a little), and more than anything — I hope there’s a TV in heaven so that Mimi (who LIVED for her shows) could watch me and be proud. To every person who gave me a chance, cheered me on, and afforded me love and grace — thank you. I’m endlessly grateful,” Brynn added.

Brynn is stepping away from the show to focus on her dating app, Hoppy, which she noted had a “massive download milestone” that solidified her decision to step away from the show. She shared with her followers that her goal was for Hoppy to eventually become the top dating app in the world, meaning she’d have to channel all of her energy into making it as strong as possible.

Andy Cohen Reveals RHONY’s Future After Fears It Is Canceled

The future of The Real Housewives of New York remains uncertain, but the network is meeting with new women.

The Rest Of The Cast Is Supposedly Relieved About Brynn’s Exit

Despite Brynn’s heartfelt message about how much her time on RHONY meant to her, an inside source claims that, for the rest of the cast members, her departure from the show comes as good news. As reported by Page Six, Brynn leaving after two seasons will actually provide relief for the others.

The source close to the reality TV cast members elaborated on how things had grown strained with Brynn prior to her official exit from the show:

The cast has largely distanced themselves from Brynn, and it was a relief for all of the ladies to hear that she will not be returning. Whether or not any of the girls get to hang on to their apples, they’re elated that Brynn has dropped hers. Honestly, they’d be scared to film with her again after the mess she made last season.

Bravo Drops New TV Slate—But RHONY And RHONJ Are Nowhere To Be Found

Bravo announced that the network has a new city in the Real Housewives franchise, but it also shared two long-standing cities are on pause.

The news of Brynn’s exit — and perhaps the drama that could have contributed to it — is just the latest in a string of drama for the show. Back in May, panic arose when it was rumored that Bravo might be pulling the longstanding series off the air for good, though eventually Andy Cohen clarified that producers behind the show were simply regrouping and rethinking casting for the upcoming season.

“This is called the casting process between seasons, and it’s heavily underway,” Andy emphasized at the time, putting fans’ nerves at ease that their favorite franchise wouldn’t be going anywhere. Though we have yet to know who, exactly, will be featured in the RHONY Season 10 lineup, it is clear that Brynn will be stepping away after a very full two seasons with the franchise. Only time will tell if she’ll be able to take Hoppy to the lofty goals she has in mind for the platform.
