Singapore Airlines (SIA) has been ranked the second-best airline in the world at the 2025 World Airline Awards, held by UK aviation ratings firm Skytrax yesterday (June 17).
The title of World’s Best Airline went to Qatar Airways.
Both airlines have maintained the same rankings as last year.
Since 2017, the title of Best Airline in the World has been bestowed to either of these two airlines.
The same contenders from 2024 take up the top five spots this year, with Cathay Pacific moving up from fifth to third place, Emirates moving down from third to fourth this year and ANA All Nippon Airways also slipping from fourth to fifth.

In addition to ranking second on this year’s list, SIA received several other top accolades like World’s Best Cabin Crew and World’s Best First Class. The national carrier was also ranked the Best Airline in Asia.
Malaysia’s AirAsia has won the World’s Best Low-Cost Airlines 2025 title, maintaining its top ranking since 2010.
Singapore’s budget airline Scoot comes in second in this category. The subsidiary of SIA was also bestowed an award as the World’s Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline.
The rankings for Skytrax’s 2025 World Airline Awards were drawn from an online survey including travellers from across the globe.
More than 100 customer nationalities participated in the survey from September 2024 to May 2025.
