Jasper County Sheriff’s Report for Tue, June 10th, 2025 | Civic Events

We had a great start to our week at the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. Members of Hillcrest Baptist Church provided an outstanding meal for our inmates and employees.

Everyone enjoyed a meal of meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes and cake. We are so thankful to the members of Hillcrest Baptist Church for their generosity. We are very blessed to have so many caring people in our county!

On June 3rd , 2025, a Jasper County Jailer received a minor injury during an altercation with an inmate after that inmate refused to return to his cell. A small struggle ensued and the inmate bit the jailer on his right forearm. The jailer was able to call for assistance. Once help arrived, the inmate was placed in hand restraints. Our jailer was evaluated at Jasper Memorial Hospital where he received medical attention. The inmate, Anthony Andre Threatt, 64, of Jasper, is currently incarcerated in our jail for Theft of a Firearm and Burglary of a Vehicle. He was charged with Assault Public Servant (Simple Assault) – F3.

On June 4, 2025, Chief Pulliam and I attended the Sabine-Neches Chiefs’ Association in Beaumont. Members of the association voted to include the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office as new members. The association, which is 75 years old, will greatly benefit the JCSO in times of emergencies by increasing the availability of various resources and experience. This is the first time JCSO has been a part of this association. We would like to thank all the agencies for voting us in and we look forward to a long partnership.

On June 4, 2025, Gulf Credit Union visited with both male and female members of the jail. They were able to offer financial advice to the inmates. Everyone at the Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to helping our inmates become productive citizens of society once they leave our facility. This is one more example of what we are trying to do at the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 4, 2025, while patrolling the Evadale area, a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped Joshua Stimits, 43, and Chassity McGurk, 42, both of Buna, for a defective equipment violation. The deputy asked for consent to search the vehicle which the driver freely gave. The deputy located what he knew was methamphetamines inside the vehicle. Both Stimits and McGurk denied knowledge of the contraband. Both were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1<1G, State Jail Felony. While the deputy was arresting Stimits, he actively resisted. Fortunately, a good Samaritan was observing and assisted the deputy in getting Stimits into custody. Stimits was also charged with Resist Arrest Search Transport, Misdemeanor A. Both Stimits and McGurk were transported to the Jasper County Jail.

On June 5th , 2025, a travel trailer was stolen at Parkwood Baptist Church in Buna. It’s a 2018 Keystone 260 BHLE bumper pull with TX license Plate 3B055499. The sticker on the door side is peeling, the roll up awning doesn’t close all the way, the back camper window has a torn curtain, and the front trim near the tongue is peeling up. If anyone can give us any information regarding who took it, we will take care of the rest.

On June 6th , 2025, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Kirbyville. Deputy Gray checked the plate and learned that the registered owner Brianne Miguez, 32, of Kirbyville, was a wanted fugitive out of Jasper County for Injury to a Child, Elderly, or Disabled Person-State Jail felony. Miguez was in the vehicle, arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

On June 6, 2025, Randy McCullough, 41, of Kirbyville, was arrested in Hendricks County, Indiana, in a joint operation with U.S. Marshals, FBI, Indiana State Police and local law enforcement. On April 22, 2025, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip from Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas regarding inappropriate communication between a 41-year-old man and a 12-year-old female child. Investigator Lampman was assigned the case and immediately began an investigation that revealed digital images and videos of sexual content had been exchanged between the suspect and the victim. An arrest warrant for Online Solicitation of a Minor (F1) was obtained for McCullough and we started actively pursuing him. McCullough is a long haul truck driver and couldn’t be located locally so we enlisted the help of other agencies to help locate him which led to his arrest in Indiana.

On June 6, 2025, Jasper County Sheriff’s deputies were deployed to a residence on South Hwy 96 in Buna to serve an Aggravated Assault warrant on Charles Benjamin Franklin IV, 34, of Buna. Shortly after deputies arrived at his residence, Franklin barricaded himself inside the mobile home and saturated himself and the residence with gasoline. Negotiations began and deteriorated at which time Deputies and State Troopers made entry into the residence and were met with resistance. Franklin started a fire in the living room where it was quickly extinguished. Franklin was taken into custody. He received a minor cut to his forehead and was treated at the scene. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail where he was also charged with Obstruction or Retaliation (F3) and Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant (F1).

On June 8th , 2025, Sgt. Chris Wade made a traffic stop on Dante Thomas, 33, of Kirbyville. Mr. Thomas was riding a bicycle and committed a traffic violation. Mr. Thomas was checked for warrants and was found to be wanted by Jasper County for Bail Jumping/Failure to Appear for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 (F2). Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Jail.

On June 9th , 2025, A Jasper County deputy stopped Lance Robinson, 27, of Livingston for running a stop sign. During the stop, Livingston admitted that he was in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamines, both of which were located in his vehicle. Robinson was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1<1G, State Jail Felony and transported to the Jasper County Jail.

Please note that all persons listed in this report are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

If you don’t have some sort of camera system in your house and/or on your property, I’d like to encourage you to hang some game cameras along your driveway, sides of your yard, or anywhere else that a burglar might enter. This could help deter a criminal from coming onto your property and taking things that you’ve worked so hard for. This could also help us identify the burglar. We have solved so many burglaries because of game cameras.

As always, it is an honor to be the Sheriff of Jasper County. Please don’t hesitate to call us if you need us.

Respectfully,

Chuck Havard

Jasper County Sheriff
